Elex Media to Release Volumes of Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note Manga

Manga previously ran in Indonesian edition of Nakayoshi magazine

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced last week that it will release print volumes of Megu Sakura's manga adaptation of Hitomi Fujimoto and Ryō Sumitaki's Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note children's mystery novel series. Elex Media previously serialized the manga in the Indonesian edition of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine.

The stories center around Aya Tachibana, a sixth-grader who frets and obssesses over friends, family, grades, and more. One day, she joins the "Tantei Team KZ" (Detective Team Kazs) with four very idiosyncratic boys she met at cram school.

There is the glib and attention-grabbing leader Kazuomi Wakatake, the mysterious "expert of personal relationships" Takakazu Kuroki, the smart and stoic math genius Kazunori Uesugi, and the sweethearted Kazuhiko Kozuka who is good at social matters and science. Aya finds her place among them as the "language expert." "Tantei Team KZ" gets involved in modern-day cases, and even if they bicker from time to time, they collaborate by pooling each of their talents and skills to solve these cases.

Sakura launched the manga in Nakayoshi in October 2015, and ended it in January 2016. Kodansha published two compiled book volumes for the manga.

Fujimoto and Sumitaki's original novel series launched in 2011 with art by Komagata, and is currently ongoing. Fujimoto launched a spinoff series titled Yōkai Team G Jiken Note in 2014 and it has three volumes. The pair also launched another spinoff series titled KZ'Deep File in 2015, and that has four volumes. The novels inspired a television anime in 2015.
