Ushio & Tora's Fujita Teases Important Announcement

posted on by Alex Mateo

The official website for Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine teased on Tuesday that manga artist Kazuhiro Fujita will have an important announcement in the magazine's 16th issue on March 14.

The teaser appears near an image of Fujita's currently-running manga Sou-Bou-Tei Kowasubeshi on the website and in the magazine itself, but the wording does not indicate whether or not the announcement will be related to this manga.

Fujita launched his Sou-Bou-Tei Kowasubeshi (Sou-Bou-Tei Must Be Destroyed; pictured right) manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in March 2016. Shogakukan will publish the manga's eighth compiled volume on April 18.

Fujita's Ushio & Tora manga ran from 1990 to 1996 in Weekly Shonen Sunday with 33 volumes. The manga was adapted into an original video anime series in 1992 and a television anime that began in July 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the television series and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Fujita's Bakegyamon manga also inspired a television anime in 2006. Another manga, the "Karakuri no Kimi" short story in Fujita's Yoru no Uta collection, inspired the Puppet Princess original video anime project.
