School battle series inspired 12-episode TV anime in April 2016

The official Twitter account for the GA Bunko imprint's editorial department revealed on Friday that Jun Misaki's Hundred light novel series will end with the 16th novel, which will ship on October 11. The Twitter post also revealed the cover illustration for the final novel (pictured at right).

Misaki launched the novel series in 2012, and SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint published the 15th novel on July 13. Nitroplus artist Nekosuke Okuma (The Testament of Sister New Devil) illustrates the series.

The novel series inspired a 12-episode television anime adaptation that premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and it describes the story:

"Hundred" - the only weapon capable of fighting the Savages, mysterious life forms attacking Earth. Hayato enters the battleship university Little Garden in hopes of becoming a Slayer... but his roommate Emile Crossfode, who seems to know a lot about him for some reason, awakens a sort of unsettling nostalgia within him. What's more, right after he joins the school, the strongest Slayer at Little Garden, the "Queen" Claire Harvey, challenges him to a duel!

Funimation released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on December 19.

Misaki's new novel titled Dennō Senki Angel Force will ship on September 14 with illustrations by Gocho.
