New Blood-C Live-Action Film's 1st Part Opens on October 13

Trailer, poster visual also revealed for latest installment in CLAMP, Production I.G's franchise

The official website for Blood-Club Dolls, the new live-action film in Production I.G and CLAMP's Blood-C franchise, revealed on August 29 through a trailer that the film's first part will open in Japan on October 13. The first film will be titled Blood-Club Dolls 1, and the project will have a total of two films.

The site also revealed a poster visual for the film.

Maon Kurosaki is performing the film's theme song "Hazy Moon."

The film stars Ryūnosuke Matsumura, Ryo Kitazono, Kanon Miyahara, Maon Kurosaki, Yōji Tanaka, Aki Asakura, Ren Yagami, Shota Takasaki, Yuki Tomotsune, Yūya Asato, Taishi Sugie, Junji Shimizu, Ryosei Tanaka, Naoya Gomoto, Judai Shirakashi, Keisuke Minami, Takuya Kawaharada, Asami Yoshikawa, Yuki Kandagawa, Dai Hasegawa, Rii Sakurai, Ko Hosokawa, Katsumi Takahashi, and Norito Yashima.

Shutaro Oku (Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena stage plays) is once again directing the film, and Jun'ichi Fujisaku returns to pen the script. Oku previously directed the 2017 Asura Girl ~Blood-C Ibun~ live-action film and the 2015 Blood-C: The Last Mind stage play, while Fujisaku wrote the scripts for the 2011 television anime and the stage play adaptation.

Kentarō Kishi is the director of photography, and Junji Shimizu of 30-DELUX is the fight choreographer. Kōsuke Nishimoto is composing the music, while Mitsunaga Fujii is the still photographer. Sennosuke Okumura and Seiichi Horiguchi are producing the film.

The film will feature a new story.

Manga creator team CLAMP developed the story and original character designs for both the 2011 Blood-C television series and its anime film sequel, titled Blood-C: The Last Dark. Production I.G animated both projects. The anime film sequel premiered in Japan in June 2012. The live-action film sequel Asura Girl ~Blood-C Ibun~ opened in Japan in August 2017. Funimation has licensed and released both the television series and the anime film in North America.
