Manga follows 18-year-old who begins high school after working

The official Twitter account for Production I.G's Anime Beans app announced on Thursday that Minoru Sasaki's Chūsotsu Worker Kara Hajimeru Kōkō Seikatsu (Beginning High School Life After Entering the Workforce After Middle School) manga will get an anime adaptation on the app this winter.

The staff will hold a voice actor audition event on the Line Live streaming service from September 28 to October 9. Six male and six female voice actors from 81 Produce are competing for viewer support to be selected for the anime.

The romantic comedy follows 18-year-old Makoto Katagiri, who quit school after middle school to work at a factory and take care of his younger sister Maaya. When Maaya fails her high school entrance exams, they both end up starting at the same correspondence high school. At the school's entrance ceremony, Makoto has a dramatic meeting with Rio Aizawa, the daughter of a wealthy family.

The ongoing manga launched in Nihon Bungeisha's Comic Heaven magazine in October 2012. Nihon Bungeisha published the 10th compiled volume on May 28. The manga has more than 1 million copies in print.

Production I.G launched the Tate Anime app in June 2017 and it ended service on May 31. The app offered short (about three-minute) anime that update on weekdays, and each series had 10 episodes. The anime are presented vertically for smartphones. Production I.G rebranded the app as Anime Beans in June.
