Idol Group Maneki-kecak Perform New 'Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan' Anime's Ending Theme

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yukiko Natsume's Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan manga revealed on Saturday that the five-member all-female idol group Maneki-kecak (GeGeGe no Kitarō first ending theme) will perform the show's new ending theme song "Itsuka Dokoka de" (Someday Somewhere). The new song will debut in the anime for the show's second cours (second quarter of a year) on January 4. The single for the song will ship on March 20.
Singer-songwriter Nyanzonudeshi is performing the current ending theme song "Naku Ko mo Warau" (Children Who Cry Also Laugh).
The series of shorts premiered in Japan on October 5. Shinichi Tsutsumi is narrating the series, and all characters are voiced by either Kōji Yusa (Yowamushi Pedal's Midōsuji, Blue Exorcist's Renzō Shima) or Kotori Koiwai (Non Non Biyori's Renge Miyauchi, Gatchaman Crowds' Utsutsu).
The "soothing short" manga follows Chitose, a fluffy Emperor penguin chick living in Kyoto. The stories depict such familiar Kyoto locales as Togetsu-kyō bridge, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine, and Kiyomizu-dera temple from a penguin's perspective, as well as Kyoto cuisine.
Kyō Yatate (Bananya, Sockie's Frontier Quest) is directing the anime and handling the series composition at the studio Gathering. Jun Mita is both the character designer and animation director, Haruko Nobori is the color designer, Yoshinobu Yamada is the art director, and Nobuyuki Abe is the sound director. Koguma is composing the music, and VAP is producing and presenting the project.
Natsume has been serializing the manga in Kodansha's Be Love magazine, and Kodansha published the third compiled book volume on March 13.
