posted on by Karen Ressler
Anime about genius girl who can't confess to her crush premieres on January 7

Sentai Filmworks announced on Monday that it has licensed the television anime of tugeneko's How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno (Ueno-san wa Bukiyō) manga in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland and other select territories. The company plans to stream the series this winter and eventually release it on home video.

The anime will premiere in Japan on BS11 on January 6 at 24:30 (effectively January 7 at 12:30 a.m.), before later airing on Tokyo MX and J:COM TV. The series will stream in Japan on the Docomo Anime Store, AbemaTV, and Niconico.

Sentai Filmworks describes the story:

Not only is Ueno the president of the science club at her junior high school, she's a genius inventor, too! However, despite everything she has going for her, there's one big problem she can't seem to solve: no matter what she does, she can't figure out how to confess to her crush, Tanaka! Can she find a way to give her heart what it truly yearns for?

Tomohiro Yamanashi (Yurumates3Dei) is credited both as director and for series composition at Lesprit. Ayano Ōwada (Black Butler: Book of Circus episode animation director) is credited for both character designs and as animation director. Katsuki Sarutani (WorldEnd) is the art director. Haruko Nobori (Tiger & Bunny, Typhoon Noruda) is the color key artist. Nobuyuki Abe is the sound director, while Yasuhiro Misawa is composing the music. Nippon Columbia is credited for music production. Gathering is credited for production cooperation.

The artist tugeneko launched the manga in Young Animal in February 2015. Hakusensha published the manga's fifth volume on December 26.
