Big Order/Future Diary's Sakae Esuno Launches New Manga (Updated)

The second volume (seen right) of Bokuto Uno's Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru (Seven Magic Swords Rule) light novel series revealed on Thursday that manga creator Sakae Esuno will launch a manga adaptation of the novels in Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine this spring.
The novels' story begins in a certain spring at Kimberly Magic School, where proud, purposeful, and black-robed students go to school with sword-wands on their belts. As they go to school, they meet a line of magical creatures parading under cherry blossom trees. One of the students, Oliver, befriends the new entrants, but his eye stops on a lone girl: Nanao, the "samurai" girl who carries a Japanese sword. The story of their magical swords begins here.
Esuno previously drew the Future Diary and Big Order manga. Future Diary ran from 2006 to 2010, and inspired a video anime project, a 2011 television anime series, and a live-action television adaptation. Tokyopop published 10 of the 12 manga volumes. Funimation and the video-streaming service Niconico streamed the television anime series as it aired in Japan.
Esuno launched the Big Order supernatural manga series in Monthly Shōnen Ace in 2011, and ended it in July 2016. Kadokawa published the manga's 10th and final compiled book volume in September 2016. Yen Press is releasing the manga in English. The manga inspired an original video anime (OVA), and a 10-episode television anime series in 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
Uno launched the Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru novel series with the first volume in September 2018, with illustrations by Ruria Miyuki. Uno's Alderamin on the Sky light novel series ran from 2012 to August 2018. Those novels inspired a television anime series in 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
