MVM Acquires Kizumonogatari

MVM will release film trilogy prequel to the original Bakemonogatari.
MVM announced in a Tweet that it has acquired Kizumonogatari, a trilogy of films which comprises a prequel to Bakemonogatari. In addition, UK Anime News reports that MVM is planning to release the anime in 2019, but no date is confirmed yet.
Kizumonogatari is the third volume in NisiOisin's Monogatari book series and is a prequel to Bakemonogatari. The novel tells the story of how protagonist Koyomi encounters the female vampire that would turn him and his journey to return to his normal life.
Akiyuki Simbo was once again credited as chief director of the anime version at the studio SHAFT. Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka designed the characters, Yota Tsuruoka directed the sound, and Satoru Kousaki composed the music.
