Made in Abyss and My Hero Academia: Two Heroes Released Monday

On Monday April 8, MVM will release a Collectors Blu-ray edition of Made in Abyss, containing the 12-part TV series, 12 artcards and a 76-page artbook. MVM describes the story as follows:

"No one knows what's at the bottom of the Abyss. No one who's ventured that far has ever returned. What is known is that the Abyss is filled with strange creatures and priceless relics that have lured generations of fortune hunters into a diabolical trap. Because while anyone can descend into the Abyss safely, coming back up triggers a nightmarish series of transformations and madness. And the deeper you go, the less chance you have of coming back unchanged.

"But when 12-year-old Riko receives a message that her missing mother might still be alive deep in the Abyss, she knows she has to go to her. She must go even if it's a one-way trip for her and her robot friend Reg as they brave the ultimate darkness in Made in Abyss."

Masayuki Kojima (Black Bullet, Tibetan Dog) directed the anime at the studio Kinema Citrus (Scorching Ping Pong Girls, Barakamon). Hideyuki Kurata (Samurai Flamenco, The World God Only Knows) was in charge of series composition, and Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell: Arise Alternative Architecture, xxxHOLiC) designed the characters. Kevin Penkin (Norn9, Under the Dog) composed the music.

Manga Entertainment will release the film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes as a Blu-ray Steelbook, a standard Blu-ray and a DVD. Funimation has described the film's story:

The climactic finals are over, and U.A. is getting ready for the summer training camp. Deku and All Might receive an invitation from a certain person to go overseas to a giant artificial moving city called I-Island. This island, a kind of “science Hollywood” that gathers the knowledge of scientists from around the world, is holding an exhibition called I-Expo showcasing the results of Quirk and hero item research. In the midst of all this, Deku meets a Quirkless girl named Melissa and remembers his own Quirkless past. Out of the blue, the impregnable security system the island boasts is hacked by villains, and all the people on the island are taken as hostages! Now, a plan that could shake hero society has been put into motion! The man who holds the key to it all is the number one hero and Symbol of Peace, All Might.

Original manga creator Kōhei Horikoshi is credited with the original work, character designs, and as chief supervisor. Returning staff members included director Kenji Nagasaki at BONES, scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi. TOHO distributed the film in Japan. Masaki Suda performed the film's theme song "Long Hope Philia." amazarashi's Hiromu Akita wrote and composed the piece.

MVM will also release a Blu-ray edition of the 12-part series Seven Mortal Sins. MVM has described the story:

Before Lucifer's fall, hell was ruled by seven demon lords, known as the Seven Mortal Sins. These beautiful and tempting devils seek complete corruption of the world, but everything is about to change when Lucifer is cast down to their realm of hell, and takes up arms with an Earth girl named Maria. Whose corruption will rule hell and the hearts of mankind?

Kinji Yoshimoto (Queen's Blade: The Exiled Virgin, Plastic Little) directed the anime at TNK and Artland, and he was also credited for story concept, series composition, and color design. (Eri Umemoto was credited for color design alongside Yoshimoto.) Masashi Suzuki (The Sacred Blacksmith, Rail Wars!, Queen's Blade: Grimoire) was the main writer.
