The Animazement event announced on Friday that it will host producer Masao Maruyama and A-1 Pictures president Masuo Ueda at this year's event in North Carolina.

Maruyama was involved in the establishment of MADHOUSE in 1972. Since then, he has nurtured talents such as Tetsuro Araki, Atsuko Ishizuka and the late Satoshi Kon. Among the anime he has produced are Unico, Ninja Scroll, Card Captor Sakura, Monster, Death Note, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Paprika, Redline, and Supernatural the Animation. Maruyama left MADHOUSE in 2011 to form MAPPA, and then stepped down as CEO in April 2016 and founded his new Studio M2 in the same year.

Ueda began working at Nippon Sunrise (now known as Sunrise) in 1979, then began working at Aniplex in 2003. He became president and CEO of A-1 Pictures in 2010. He is also a representative and planning producer for Skyfall, LLC.

The event will also host three members of the Animator Supporters Group: Jun Sugawara, Shintarō Dōge, and Shashamo. The group finds ways "that ordinary anime fans ... can help solve [the] issue" of working conditions in the anime industry.

The event will also host veteran voice actor Katsuji Mori, voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi, voice actor Ryūsei Nakao, video game composer Kumi Tanioka, producer Koji Nagai, voice actress Keiko Han, and director and animator Kazushige Yusa.

Animazement will be held from May 24-26 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
