Crunchyroll Adds Final 2 Episodes of Märchen Mädchen Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Episodes debuted in Japan on April 25 after year-long delay

Crunchyroll added the 11th and 12th episodes of the Märchen Mädchen television anime on April 28. The episodes aired in Japan on AT-X on April 25, after a year-long delay.

The television anime premiered on January 11, 2018. The anime's ninth and 10th episodes were delayed to March 22 and March 29 of that year, respectively, in order to improve the animation quality. The official website then reported in late March 2018 that the fate of the anime's 11th and 12th episodes would be announced as soon as they were decided. The anime's official website further revealed in May 2018 that the episodes would premiere in December, but were delayed again "due to circumstances" to "April or later" of this year.

The third to sixth Blu-ray Disc volumes of the anime were previously delayed by at least two months each to improve the animation quality on some of the episodes. In particular, the website cited the sixth, seventh, and ninth episodes (on the third, fourth, and fifth Blu-ray Disc volumes, respectively) as requiring a large number of corrections. The anime's sixth Blu-ray Disc volume with episodes 11 and 12 will now ship on June 19.

Crunchyroll streamed the first 10 episodes as they aired in Japan.

Hisashi Saito (Haganai, Fantasista Doll, Bamboo Blade) served as the chief director for the anime, and Shigeru Ueda (RIN - Daughters of Mnemosyne, Senran Kagura: Estival Versus - Festival Eve Full of Swimsuits) directed the anime at Hoods Entertainment. Yūki Morikawa (Fantasista Doll, If Her Flag Breaks animation director) adapted Kantoku's original character designs for animation. Tomohiro Matsu was credited for series composition and script. Asaura, Yūichi Monda, and Ryunosuke Kingetsu were also credited with the script.
