HIDIVE Confirms English Dub for Domestic Girlfriend Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime premiered in January

Streaming service HIDIVE confirmed at its Anime Central panel on Saturday that it will produce an English dub for the Domestic Girlfriend television anime.

The anime premiered in Japan on January 11. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for streaming and home video release, and HIDIVE streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll also began streaming the anime after the first four episodes had aired.

Sentai Filmworks describes the series based on Kei Sasuga's manga:

Natsuo is a high school boy who is experiencing the crushing despair of unrequited love. To make matters worse, the person he is in love with is his teacher, Hina. In an attempt to lift his spirits, he attends a mixer where he meets a girl named Rui. The two sleep together, expecting never to see one another again, but fate has other plans. His life suddenly becomes more complicated when his father comes home and announces he has remarried a woman with two daughters whom Natsuo has met before: Hina and Rui!

Shōta Ihata (Girlish Number) directed the anime at diomedéa, while Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Eromanga Sensei, Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko) was in charge of the series scripts. Naomi Ide (Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they?, Gingitsune, Kan Colle) designed the characters. Masato Kōda (KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! both seasons and film) composed the music at Flying Dog.

Minami performed the opening theme song "Kawaki wo Ameku," and Arisa Takigawa performed the ending theme song "Wagamama" (Selfish).
