Aishiteruze Baby, The Romantica Clock's Yoko Maki Retires From Manga Industry

Manga creator Yōko Maki announced on her Instagram account on Wednesday that she is retiring from the manga industry. Her Kirameki no Lion Boy (Sparkly Lion Boy) manga ended in the August issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine on the same day.
Maki added that she still has "lots to tell people," so she will keep her Instagram account active until the 20-year anniversary of her manga debut on March 17, 2020.
Maki's other manga include Aishiteruze Baby, The Romantica Clock, Yamamoto Zenjirō to Mōshimasu, Star Blacks, Taranta Ranta, and Sora Sora. Her Aishiteruze Baby and The Romantica Clock series inspired television anime in 2004 and 2014, respectively.
She launched Kirameki no Lion Boy, her latest series, in Ribon in June 2016. Shueisha released the manga's ninth compiled book volume on June 25.
