GameSamba Develops Naruto Slugfest Smartphone Game
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
GameSamba announced at a press conference in Hong Kong on July 19 that it is developing the Naruto Slugfest smartphone game. The announcement describes the game as the "world's first mobile 3D MMOARPG based on the hit anime Naruto and Naruto Shippūden." Representatives from Japanese publisher Shueisha, TV Tokyo Corporation, and the anime's Studio Pierrot also attended the press conference.
GameSamba CEO Jacky Yung described the game:
The visual effect of the interface is so vivid and overwhelming that players can tap on the screen to wipe off the raindrops in game. Aside from its amazing graphics, the game allows players to show their shinobi skills in the most intense battles.
The game ran a beta test in the Philippines in April. GameSamba is updating the game based on player feedback from that test. The company plans to release the game in multiple languages.
GameSamba previously partnered with Funimation, Chinese game developer NGames Interactive, and Japanese publisher Kodansha to release the Fairy Tail: Hero's Journey browser game. The company is also collaborating on a separate Fairy Tail mobile game. The same partnership released the Tokyo Ghoul: Dark Water smartphone game in January 2018.
