Kase-san and Morning Glories Anime Reveals English Dub Cast, Trailer

Sentai Filmworks revealed a trailer and cast for the English dub of the original video anime of Hiromi Takashima's Kase-san and Morning Glories (Asagao to Kase-san) manga on Tuesday.

The English dub cast includes:

David Wald is directing the dub, and Marissa Lenti is writing the ADR script. The cast also includes Elissa Cuellar, Karlii Hoch, Ty Mahany, Melissa Molano, Holly Segarra, Avery Smithhart, Olivia Swasey, Cat Thomas, David Wald, and Sarah Wiedenheft.

Sentai Filmworks will release the Kase-san and Morning Glories Complete Collection Blu-ray Disc on October 22. The distributor will release the anime in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal.

The anime debuted in Japan in June 2018 in theaters. Pony Canyon screened the U.S. premiere of Kase-san and Morning Glories at Anime Expo in July 2018. The manga follows a romance between "the clumsy, flower-adoring Yamada and the exuberant Kase-san, their school's track and field star."

The anime's staff is mostly the same as the staff who worked on the five-minute animated clip of the manga that debuted in May 2017. Kazuyuki Hashimoto (Cowboy Bebop, Summer Wars, Mai Mai Miracle) replaced Yuka Hirama as art director, with Hirama now credited for concept boards. rionos is credited for music. Yui Yamada (as voiced by Minami Takahashi) and Tomoka Kase (Ayane Sakura) performed the anime's theme song "Asu e no Tobira" (Door to Tomorrow). The song is a cover of the 2003 song of the same name by I WiSH.

Takashima serialized Kase-san and... in Shinshokan's yuri manga anthology Hirari until the magazine ceased publication in 2014. The series is ongoing on Shinshokan's Web Wings online manga platform. The manga began serializing in the LINE Manga app in March.

Shinshokan published Kase-san and Morning Glories (Asagao to Kase-san) in 2012, followed by Obentō to Kase-san. (Kase-san and Bento) in 2012, Shortcake to Kase-san. (Kase-san and Shortcake) in 2015, Apron to Kase-san. (Kase-san and an Apron) in 2017, Sakura to Kase-san. (Kase-san and Cherry Blossoms) in 2018, and Kase-san to Yamada. (Kase-san and Yamada) on July 25. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in North America. Seven Seas has also licensed Takashima's Kase-san and Yamada manga series and will release the manga's first volume on February 11, 2020.
