World Trigger Manga Takes 1-Month Break

posted on by Alex Mateo
Daisuke Ashihara's series resumes on December 4

The official Twitter account for Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga announced on Monday that a new chapter of the manga will not appear in the December issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine on November 2 due to Ashihara's poor physical health. The manga will resume in the magazine's next issue on December 4.

The manga took a one-month break in June due to Ashihara recovering from intestinal obstruction complications that arose from his cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal surgery).

The manga had resumed in October 2018 after being on hiatus since November 2016 due to Ashihara's poor physical health. When it resumed, the manga ran for five issues in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine before moving to Jump SQ. in December 2018.

Ashihara took a one-week break in September 2014 to treat the nerve roots affected by cervical spondylosis (wear and tear on neck area of spinal column), and had also taken several one-week breaks due to sudden illness before the long hiatus in 2016-2018.

Ashihara debuted the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013, and Shueisha will publish the 21st volume on December 4. Viz Media publishes the series simultaneously in its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the 19th volume in print on October 1. The manga inspired a two-season television anime adaptation in 2014 and 2015.
