Last Period premieres on May 15, Gurazeni on May 18

Animax Asia announced on Friday and on Monday that it will air the Last Period: the journey to the end of the despair (Last Period: Owari naki Rasen no Monogatari) and Gurazeni anime. The company is streaming English-subtitled trailers for both anime.

Animax Asia will premiere Last Period: the journey to the end of the despair on May 15 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8, with new episodes every Friday.

The anime premiered in Japan in April 2018.

The anime is based on Happy Elements' smartphone game of the same name. Happy Elements launched the game in May 2016, and it has more than 5 million downloads. The story takes place in a world where fantastic beasts called "Spirals" are born from isolation. Those who can defeat the beasts are called "Periods." Haru is an apprentice Period who belongs to the Arc End 8th Branch. However, after a mysterious theft incident, there is an economic collapse, and the Arc End headquarters abandons the 8th Squad, leaving only three Periods left, including Haru. Haru and the other two Periods start their work to rebuild the 8th Squad.

Happy Elements was credited with the original work, and whoopin was credited with the character designs. Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Love Hina, Hayate the Combat Butler, Miss Monochrome) directed the anime at J.C. Staff. EGG FIRM produced the anime. Hideki Shirane (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Hayate the Combat Butler) handled the series composition, and Mika Takahashi (Twin Angels BREAK character designer) adapted whoopin's designs for animation and served as chief animation director. Manual of Errors (Magimoji Rurumo, Tamako Love Story) composed the music at NBCUniversal Entertainment, and Yoshikazu Iwanami (Sword Art Online, Psycho-Pass) was the sound director at Magic Capsule.

Animax Asia will premiere the Gurazeni anime on May 18 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8, with new episodes every Monday.

The anime premiered in Japan in April 2018. A second season premiered in October of the same year.

The anime is based on Yūji Moritaka and Keiji Adachi's manga of the same name. The "baseball money survival" story focuses on a baseball team that operates as a highly-stratified society, where the player's performance determines his annual salary. The story follows an eight-year relief pitcher with an odd left-handed side-arm throw as he fights to survive under the team's strict system.

Ayumu Watanabe directed the anime at Studio DEEN, while Hideo Takayashiki supervised and wrote the series scripts. Kenichi Ohnuki (Major, Gundam Build Fighters, Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters) designed the characters.
