Penerbit Haru Licenses Makoto Shinkai's Weathering With You Novel

Indonesian publisher Penerbit Haru announced on Sunday that it has licensed Makoto Shinkai's novel adaptation of his own Weathering With You (Tenki no Ko) anime film. The novel will ship in Indonesia in 2021.
The novel debuted in Japan on July 18, 2019, a day before the film's July 19 opening. The film opened in Indonesia in August 2019. The film became the #7 highest-earning domestic film of all time in Japan and was the highest-grossing film in Japan in 2019.
A manga adaptation by Watari Kubota launched in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in July 2019, and ended in August earlier this year.
The film centers on a runaway high school boy named Hodoka. He ends up working at an occult magazine in Tokyo to support himself. One day, Hodoka meets a girl who can control the weather, and they start a new business together.
