Akebi's Sailor Uniform Anime Adds 12 Cast Members

The official website for the television anime of HIRO's Akebi's Sailor Uniform (Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku) manga revealed more cast members for the anime on Tuesday.
The cast (including previously announced) cast members, are as follows:
First row, left to right in image above:
- Manatsu Murakami (in her first lead role in a television anime) as Komichi Akebi, the protagonist
- Sora Amamiya as Erika Kizaki, the first classmate whom Akebi meets
- Akari Kitō as Tōko Usagihara
- Shion Wakayama as Tomono Kojō
- Akira Sekine as Kei Tanigawa
- Shizuka Ishigami as Hitomi Washio
- Yui Ishikawa as Riri Minakami
- Momo Asakura as Hotaru Hiraiwa
- Azusa Tadokoro as Riona Shijō
- Miku Itō as Neko Kamimoku
- Mariya Ise as Ai Tatsumori
- Shiori Mikami as Ayumi Tōgeguchi
- Mitsuho Kambe as Oshizu Hebimori
- Kaede Hondo as Yasuko Nawashiro
- Haruka Shiraishi as Mai Togano
- Konomi Kohara as Minoru Ohkuma
The anime will premiere in January 2022.
Miyuki Kuroki (Her Blue Sky, The Idolm@ster SideM) is directing the anime at studio CloverWorks. Rino Yamazaki (production advancement for Medaka Box, screenplay for DARLING in the FRANXX) is both writing and overseeing the series scripts, and Megumi Kouno (animation director for DARLING in the FRANXX, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia) is designing the characters. Kana Utatane is composing the music.
The manga follows Komichi Akebi and her classmates at a prestigious girls middle school, following their adolescent lives and their growth.
HIRO launched the manga in 2019 on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website. The manga's ninth compiled volume shipped on Tuesday. The manga has more than 500,000 copies in print.
