Kanon DVD Released on Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also Collector's Blu-ray edition of El Hazard: The Alternative World and Blu-ray and DVD editions of the fourth season of Black Clover

On Monday June 13, MVM will release a DVD edition of Kyoto Animation's 2006 series Kanon, carrying the 24-part series based upon the 1999 Key Visual Novel. MVM describes the series:

"Yuichi hasn't seen his cousin Nayuki in years. Now that he's back, all knowledge of ever visiting has vanished. He tries to adjust to the vaguely familiar surroundings, but the gaps in his memory haunt him as time grows short. The pieces of the puzzle have appeared - an eerily silent beauty with blazing tresses, the mysterious girl with the winged backpack, and the sword-wielding demon slayer - but it's up to Yuichi to discover how they fit together."

Anime Limited will release a Collector's Blu-ray edition of El Hazard: The Alternative World. Broadcast in 1998, this is the television continuation of two previous OVAs, El Hazard - The Magnificent World and El-Hazard 2: The Magnificent World. Anime Limited describes the series:

"A new Priestess of Water has arrived. Her name is Qawool Towles, and though she's only 17, everyone (except for Shayla-Shayla) welcomes her with open arms. But during her initiation ceremony, a mysterious entity named Arjah appears and transports them all to an alternate world. Now, Makoto and the others are stranded all over again in a strange new kingdom called Creteria. It's a bleak, industrial realm ruled by a despot named Dall. If they ever want to make it back to El Hazard, they'll have to figure out the secret behind an ancient artifact called the Spring of Life. And they'd better do it fast, because the spring seems to be dying..."

Funimation will release DVD, Blu-ray and Limited Blu-ray editions of Season Four of Black Clover. The Limited Blu-ray will include a 48-part art booklet.
