posted on by Adriana Hazra

Netflix is listing the new anime of Kazushi Hagiwara's BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- action manga for release in India on June 30 and the television anime of Hotondoshindeiru's Uncle From Another World (Isekai Ojisan) manga for release in India on July 6.

Netflix is streaming trailers for BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- with Japanese and English audio. It describes the anime:

When evil forces threaten to resurrect Anthrasax, the God of destruction, the Kingdom of Meta-Ilicana calls in a volatile dark wizard for help.

The anime will debut on Netflix on June 30 worldwide.

Takaharu Ozaki (Goblin Slayer) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) is in charge of the series scripts. Sayaka Ono (CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon) is designing the characters. Yasunori Ebina (Naruto) is the sound director. Team-MAX's Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippūden, Fairy Tail) is composing the music.

The band coldrain is performing the opening theme song. Tielle will perform the anime's ending theme song "Blessless."

Hagiwara launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1988. The series has since had irregular serialization in the magazine and later in Ultra Jump starting in 2001. Shueisha published the manga's 27th compiled book volume in March 2012, and the series has over 30 million copies in circulation. Viz Media had released the manga in English, but stopped publishing the series with the 19th volume. The company cancelled its release of the 20th volume in English.

The manga inspired a six-episode original video anime (OVA) in 1992-1993. Geneon Entertainment (also known as Pioneer) released the anime on home video.

Netflix describes Uncle From Another World:

After being in a coma for 17-years, Takafumi's middle-aged uncle suddenly wakes up speaking an unrecognizable language and wielding magical powers.

The anime will debut on AT-X on July 6 at 10:00 p.m. JST. The first episode will get a preview screening on YouTube on Saturday. Netflix will stream the series worldwide in July.

Shigeki Kawai is directing the anime at Atelier Pontdarc, and Kenta Ihara (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, Full Dive, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Mieruko-chan) is overseeing and writing the series scripts. Kazuhiro Ōta (Natsu no Arashi!, Negima!, Pani Poni Dash!) is designing the characters.

Mayu Maeshima performs the anime's opening theme song "story." Yuka Iguchi performs the ending theme song "Ichibanboshi Sonority." Both songs' respective CD singles will ship on August 3.

Hotondoshindeiru launched the manga on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website in June 2018, and Kadokawa published the manga's seventh compiled book volume on February 21. The manga has 1.8 million copies in circulation. Yen Press licensed the manga and published its fourth volume on March 29.
