Ani-One Asia announced on Facebook on Monday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of AZU's Magical Sempai (Tejina Senpai) manga on its YouTube channel on March 27. The channel will stream an episode of the anime daily at 5:30 p.m. IST.

The anime premiered in Japan in July 2019. Each episode of the anime is 15 minutes long.

Ani-One describes the story:

An unmotivated first-year high school boy finds a cute girl practicing a magic trick. The girl is Sempai, the only remaining member of the Magic Club. She has stage fright whenever she performs in front of an audience, which often causes her to slip up in her acts. She recruits the boy to be her assistant, who is going to experience all sorts of awkward moments with this eccentric sempai.

The anime stars:

Fumiaki Usui (episode director for Chaos;HEAd, Spice and Wolf, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere II) directed the series at LIDEN FILMS, and Rintarou Ikeda (Love and Lies, Hakyū Hōshin Engi, Love Tyrant scripts) both wrote and oversaw the series scripts. Eriko Itō (Love and Lies, Poco's Udon World) served as both character designer and chief animation director. i☆Ris' performed the anime's opening theme song "FANTASTIC ILLUSION." Minori Suzuki performed the show's ending theme song.

AZU launched the manga in Young Magazine in February 2016, and ended the series in February 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga digitally.
