Phoenix Gramedia Licenses Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Novels

Phoenix Gramedia, the new publishing joint venture between Kadokawa and Gramedia, announced on Monday that it has licensed writer Sunsunsun and artist Momoco's Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san) light novel series, and will release the first volume in Indonesia on May 7. Phoenix Gramedia describes the novels:

Alya, gadis berambut perak keturunan Rusia itu duduk di samping Masachika Kuze. Alya sering kali meledek dan menggoda Masachika menggunakan bahasa Rusia. Ia terlihat sangat menikmati ekspresi Masachika yang terlihat kikuk dan tampak kebingungan dengan apa yang ia katakan.

Namun sedikit yang Alya tahu, Masachika sebenarnya memahami bahasa Rusia pada level native dan mengetahui bahwa Alya menaruh hati padanya. Itulah yang membuat dia kikuk dan bingung harus bersikap seperti apa, mengingat Alya adalah gadis yang dikagumi oleh semua siswa di sekolah.

Romcom school life mereka pun akhirnya dimulai.

Kadokawa publishes the novels under its Sneaker Bunko imprint, and will publish the sixth volume on April 1. Saho Tenamachi (Shōsetsu no Kami-sama; Itsuka, Nemuri ni Tsuku Hi) launched a manga adaptation in October 2022 on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app.

The novels are inspiring an anime adaptation set to release in July.
