Announcing Skip Beat! English Dubs of Songs
San Francisco – December 2, 2016 – Pied Piper, Inc. is proud to announce that the two ending songs (“Namida” and “Eien”) for the Skip Beat! anime official North America release will be recorded in English. The songs will feature vocals by Robbie Daymond, Vic Mignogna and Raj Jain. In addition, a teaser was released of the opening sequence featuring Caitlin Glass as Kyoko Mogami and Mela Lee along with Cristina Vee as vocalists for the opening song “Dream Star.”
The dub is being funded by 1,600+ Kickstarter backers, who contributed over $225,000 toward Skip Beat! official North America DVD/Blu-ray release, as well as additional funding being raised on Backerkit through December 15th. The dub stars Caitlin Glass as Kyoko Mogami and is executive produced by Mela Lee, with Cristina Vee serving as casting director and Taliesin Jaffe as head director.
The English versions of the two opening songs (“Dream Star” featuring Mela Lee and Cristina Lee, “Renaissance” featuring Erica Lindbeck) and insert songs (“Prisoner” and “Burnin' Down” featuring Nathan Sharp) were previously announced.
Exclusive pre-order rewards (Official Skip Beat! jacket, Deluxe Edition DVD/Blu-ray combo set, posters signed by the dub team) are available through December 15th on Backerkit. The DVD and Blu-ray will be released for general retail sale in North America in 2017.
