SaikouCon 2019 Welcomes Chris Patton as Guest of Honor
Convention also welcomes first round of Featured and Special Guests
11/29/18 Allentown/White Haven, PA – SaikouCon is a three day, anime and cosplay convention located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. SaikouCon, which means "best convention", is the annual anime convention of Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountain area with several side events in the Lehigh Valley, boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans. SaikouCon builds programming made to make memories every year, always striving for panel diversity and a balance between Japanese Pop Culture, Classical Japanese Culture, Cosplay, fun and games, original music, original music, and more original music!

The convention will always remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. SaikouCon promises to remain an all inclusive event where all are welcome to enjoy the fun, friendship, and saftey the con has offered in the past. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon Years 1-6 safe havens for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2019.
The Featured Guest of 2019 is our longtime friend (and let's be honest, con family), Foxxy! This is Foxxy's fourth time as an official Featured Guest at SaikouCon, and we're stoked to welcome her back again! Foxxy will be one of our Cosplay Contest Judges once more this year, and possibly exploring more of her skill as a gamer and presence in the gaming community, and maybe a panel or two...
SaikouCon is happy to welcome Cosplay Burlesque as Featured Guests to the 2019 show! This is Cosplay Burlesque's first time back with the convention since 2016, the show is super excited that there is enough performance space in the 2019 venue, The Mountain Laurel Resort & Spa, for the troupe to join the con and add some needed sizzle to the year.
Coming to SaikouCon for the first time is Husky Entertainment LLC! Husky Entertainment will be facilitating and running a new to SaikouCon Online Gaming Lounge! The con will still have their Retro Arcade, which just made it's return in 2018, run by staff members Matt and Kate, but Husky Entertainment is going to seriously level up your video gaming experience at SaikouCon 2019 in the brand new Gaming Hall!
The first Special Guest announcement of the year was also the first Special Guest announced last year, please welcome back BFarve Cosplay! He had such an awesome time with SaikouCon's attendees and staff in 2018 that he asked to come back again in 2019, the con is happy to oblige the request and hope that you are too! BFarve will be helping with some of the con's cosplay events again this year, and since some new cosplay events are being organized that have never been included in Saikoucon's programming before, this is the perfect time to have BFarve back. Stay tuned for the announcements about those cosplay events after the holidays have concluded along with a big announcement about a new side event tied to the holidays that SaikouCon is looking to host in 2019...
The convention staff and organizers stoked to announce the first 2019 Guest of Honor, Voice Actor Chris Patton! You'll recognize Chris's voice from the English dubs of Dragon Ball Z: Tree of Might (Turles), Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Greed), Full Metal Panic!/Full Metal Panic!? Fumoffo/Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (Sousuke Sagara), Soul Eater (Asura), The Guyver: Bio-Boosted Armor (Sho Fukamachi/Guyver I), Air Gear (Itsuki Minami), The World God Only Knows (Keima Katsuragi), Gatchaman: The Movie (Sabu), and many more! The convention's chair, Mike Meade, had spoken with Chris years ago about guesting with SaikouCon, unfortunately he was already booked for another convention on the same weekend, but now everything has fallen into place and the convention couldn't be happier; please welcome Chris Patton to the Saikou Family!
To Pre-Register (purchase advance tickets) for SaikouCon 2019 badges visit www.saikoucon.com/registration.html once pre-registration opens on October 20, 2018 at 12 PM ET and make sure to note the returning designations for Teen and Adult badges to attend the convention. The age designations do away with the need for parental consent forms for SaikouCon guests age 13-17, attendees 12 and under receive free admission but MUST be accompanied by a SaikouCon Badge Holding Attendee chaperone age 18 or older at all times! SaikouCon is family friendly, but is not designed for young children under 12 to fly solo. Pre-registration closes July 20, 2019 at midnight (the midnight going into Saturday July 21 not 12:01 AM on July 20 to clarify), there will be no extensions this year, so get the pre-reg savings while you can! There will also be no price jumps during the pre-registration period this year! Full registration details at the link provided above, please review before registering to attend SaikouCon 2019. VIP Registration is only available during the Pre-Registration period in advance of the convention once more this year, VIP Registration closes on July 7, 2019 at 12 AM.
