Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2022) – Los Angeles based film distribution and production company, Eleven Arts, announced their acquisition of North American distribution rights for the anime feature film, RYOMA! THE PRINCE OF TENNIS.

RYOMA! THE PRINCE OF TENNIS is based on the popular shōnen manga series, The Prince of Tennis, and its sequel, The New Prince of Tennis, written and illustrated by manga author Takeshi Konomi. The series, now running for over 20 years, began its serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump Magazine in 1999 and from 2009 in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine for the sequel. Over 60 million copies of the manga have been sold and since its debut, the franchise's popularity triggered projects spanning across multiple media including the anime series, animated feature films, live action films, stage plays, radio shows, music projects, and video games.

The latest installation, which is the franchise's first ever 3DCG film, will feature a story which has never been revealed in the manga series taking place between the original series and the sequel. Since opening in Japan last September, it has earned 419, 197, 830 yen (about $3.64 million) with numerous encore “cheer screenings” garnering attendance months following its opening weekend. The author Takeshi Konomi supervised the film production and wrote the music and lyrics for all the songs featured in the film. There are two versions of the film with each theatrical cut featuring different characters and scenes leading the story to unfold on two parallel routes. The film's post credit scene, which is also different depending on the version of the film, called THEATER TENIFES petit! features an exclusive compilation footage featuring some of the most popular Prince of Tennis character songs along images and illustrations from the manga.

Eleven Arts plans to announce details on release dates and ticket sales at a later date.
