"Anime Songs Party!" Program That Connects The World With Anime Songs Will Be Inviting Susumu Sugawara From Billy BanBan on June 12 (Sun) and June 19 (Sun)

Broadcasts Delivering Exclusive Studio Session From Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Studio To The World

"ANIME SONGS PARTY!" is a radio program by Nippon Cultural Broadcasting that connects the world with anime songs (on air every Sunday from 8:30pm to 8:45pm (JST)). The program brings you exclusive studio sessions of anime songs every week from the studio. It has been confirmed that Susumu Sugawara from a sibling duo “Billy BanBan” will be the guest for the June 12 (Sun) and June 19 (Sun) broadcasts.

Billy BanBan is a sibling duo composed of Takashi Sugawara and Susumu Sugawara specialized in folk music. Their debut record “Shiroi Buranko” in 1969 was a big hit. The following records “MIDORIINU“, “Renge Sou”, “Sayonara wo Surutameni” were also a big success and they made their performance at The 23rd NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. With a concert as their main activity, they became one of the leading folk groups. They have been providing a commercial song for a mugi shochu brand “iichiko” for more than 30 years. In August 2009, their song “Mata Kimi Ni Koishiteru / Toki No Shizuku” was re-released and became another big hit. Recently, Susumu Sugawara opened his own YouTube and Nico Nico Douga channel, uploads anime song covers and gets featured on lots of tv programs. The song they produced for the latest Doraemon movie “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021”, “Kokoro Arigato” was released in March 2022. A theme of the song is “brotherhood”, it sings about brotherly love between Doraemon and Nobita as well as Billy BanBan themselves with a crystal clear voice of Susumu Sugawara. Billy BanBan is celebrating its 52nd anniversary this year.

The program will feature Susumu Sugawara talking about the appeal of anime songs, as well as a studio session of anime songs from Nippon Cultural Broadcasting radio studio. The session will also be uploaded on the YouTube channel of "ANIME SONGS PARTY!" after the radio broadcast. The program is now accepting emails to Susumu Sugawara. You can send your e-mail to [email protected].

You can also watch a video of the studio session with Yoshiki Fukuyama who appeared as a guest on May 29 (Sun). YOSHIKI sang an insert song of the anime "MACROSS 7", "REMEMBER 16" with the program's radio personalities Yohei Onishi and Hikari Hinata (Singing Cosplayer Hikari). ※Yoshiki Fukuyama will also make a guest appearance on June 5 (Sun).
