Washington, D.C. (May 2, 2023) – Director and mechanial designer Shinji Aramaki will be a guest list at Otakon 2023, according to Otakorp Inc.

Aramai's first title as a director was "OVA Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01" (1988), followed by "Mega Zone 23: Part III" (1989). He was the director as well as the mechanical designer, and this style also continued with later titles.

The 2004 full 3DCG title "Appleseed" utilized toon shading and motion capturing, winning accolades for his groundbreaking directorial expression, both domestically and internationally. In 2007, the sequel "Ex Machina" was released.

In 2010, Aramaki created Sola Digital Arts Inc., handling planning and producing motion picture works. Other directorial titles include "Starship Troopers: Invasion" (2012), "Space Pirates Captain Harlock" (2013), "Appleseed Alpha" (2014), "Ultraman" (2019 - 2023, co-directed with Kenji Kamiyama), "Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045" (2020 - 2022, co-directed with Kenji Kamiyama), and "Blade Runner: Black Lotus" (2021, co- directed with Kenji Kamiyama).

Otakon 2023 will be held from July 28 to July 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
