To celebrate the release of “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made- (Taku's Twice Upon a Time Remix),” a live streaming DJ event with Taku Takahashi will be held on Instagram

TOKYO, JAPAN – 18 August 2023 – Since its release, Hikaru Utada's single “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-” has captivated audiences all over the world, claiming the top spot on rankings for both Japanese and international digital music platforms. Amidst a whirlwind of excitement fueled by their media appearances in Japan and the highly-anticipated music video release, fans can anticipate another treat: a remixed version of the track scheduled to drop on 25 August.

The new remix, “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made- (Taku's Twice Upon a Time Remix),” was produced by DJ and record producer ☆Taku Takahashi, who formerly collaborated with Utada for “DISTANCE (m-flo Remix)” and performed original remixed versions of Utada's songs at a special DJ event held last year. This highly-danceable remix is a fresh take on the original version.

“I'm so very happy to have been offered the opportunity to work on the remix once again,” said ☆Taku Takahashi. “I felt a strong connection to the original song, which motivated me to give it a unique twist to make the remix sound completely different from the original one. Despite labelling it as a remix, we introduced fresh vocal elements and we had a lot of fun working together as if it were a session, openly sharing our viewpoints and diligently bringing it to completion.”

On the day the remix comes out, Hikaru Utada will make their guest appearance on “TCY Radio” on block.fm hosted by ☆Taku Takahashi, from 9pm Japan Time. To commemorate the release of the remix track, a live streaming event featuring “Hikaru Utada Only mix DJ” by ☆Taku Takahashi will also be held on the day, from 10pm Japan Time.
