KamiErabi GOD.app Anime Announces Livestream Premiere & Creative Staff Q&A on IGN with Yoko Taro, Atsushi Ohkubo & JIN on October 1

Special program will premiere the first three episodes of the anime outside of Japan and include a special Q&A session with the creative staff, all to be livestreamed on IGN.

KamiErabi GOD.app is a large scale project with an original story by YOKO TARO, the globally-renowned director of the hit game “NieR:Automata”, scripts by JIN of “Kagerou Project”, character designs by Atsushi Ohkubo, creator of the hit manga series “Fire Force” and “Soul Eater”, and directed by Hiroyuki Seshita of “Knights of Sidonia” and “BLAME!”. Episodes will be distributed on Crunchyroll every Wednesday from 10:25AM PDT starting October 4, 2023.

Just before the start of KamiErabi's television broadcast, there will be a special livestream program called “KamiErabi CREATOR LIVESTREAM 3 Eps + Q&A! Meet YOKO TARO, Atsushi Ohkubo, & JIN!”. This program will be livestreamed on IGN's YouTube Channel.

In this program, the first 3 episodes with English subtitles will be streamed for free, and there will also be a Q&A session with the original creative staff of this work: YOKO TARO, character designer Atsushi Ohkubo, and JIN! They will also give a detailed explanation of the work and talk about the secret story behind its creation. In addition, they will also be answering questions from viewers. There will be live English interpretation for the Q&A and other talk portions.

Viewers may submit questions in advance by messaging the official KamiErabi Reddit account (u/KamiErabi_official). Questions will also be accepted during the livestream event by using #KamiErabi on X (formerly Twitter) or asking in the livestream chat.

【INTRODUCTION】

The original TV anime from the mind of Yoko Taro x JIN x Atsushi Ohkubo x Hiroyuki Seshita,

YOKO TARO continues to deliver despair and emotion to the world as director of the mega-hit game Nier: Automata. Content creators have come together who resonate with Yoko's surprising ideas.

Jin (Kagerou Project), who has captivated many boys and girls along the way, is in charge of scripts and soul. Okubo Atsushi (Fire Force; Soul Eater), a manga artist with a string of hits, shapes the body as character designer. And Seshita Hiroyuki (Knights of Sidonia; BLAME!), who's explored the cutting edge of visual expression, brings an overwhelming vitality to that newborn clump. KamiErabi commences October 4, 2023 (JST).

【STORY】

Goro, a first-year senior high student who attends a private metropolitan school, has no wishes, dreams, or ambitions. He's indifferent towards the world, and while he does feel a slight longing for his schoolmate Honoka, he and his good friend Akitsu spends their days in a state of never-changing tedium.

Then one day, a strange notice pops up on Goro's smartphone: "You've been chosen. Please make a wish."

Thinking it's malicious spam, Goro mutters "I want to fool around with my crush, Honoka." Then the next day, Honoka reaches for his pants while the two of them are alone at a deserted arcade...

"Congratulations on your wish coming true!" Suddenly, a mysterious girl named Lall appears. Goro is confused by this chain of events, and she informs him of his cruel fate. Namely that he's been chosen by the Great Will, and for granting his wish, he and the rest of the God candidates must kill one another until the last one standing claims the title of "God."

The power given to him is the Fool's Sutra. For the price of "misfortune" befalling him personally, he has the power to twist the world's karma, which means freely manipulating the very reason of the world itself.

The very first God candidate to appear and attempt to kill Goro is, of all people, his crush Honoka. What choice does he make as she attacks him relentlessly?

Thus the curtain rises on an Obsession Battle Royale between the God candidates, and every one of them has their share of secrets!
