KLab Announced the Start of the Pre-Registration Period for the New Smartphone Game 'Haikyu!! Fly High' Based on the 'Haikyu!!' Animation Series

KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced that Haikyu!! Fly High, a mobile online game based on the animation series Haikyu!!, is currently under development. In addition, pre-registration and pre-orders within Japan are now being accepted.

KLab obtained the license to proceed with the development of this title from the Haikyu!! Production Committee. Changyou (Headquarters: Beijing, People's Republic of China, CEO: Tao Wang, hereinafter referred to as “Changyou”), a leading company in China that develops and operates online games, is working together with Prophet Games (Headquarters: Chengdu, People's Republic of China, hereinafter referred to as “Prophet Games”), a developer of many worldwide hit mobile games with a focus on the sports genre, to oversee this project.

Following Japan, other regions scheduled for release are to be announced.

Business Model

KLab aims to generate revenue opportunities by promoting the "Overseas Game Development Support Model". This model is defined by obtaining licenses for games from Japanese IP holders who are aiming to generate overseas revenue by developing games jointly with overseas developers.

KLab strives to expand its business leveraging its current knowledge of relationships with IP holders and overseas developers. Through the implementation of this business strategy, KLab will continue to promote and develop IP based games for international audiences.

Haikyu!! Fly High is a sports card game in which the main focus is placed on collection building. Famous scenes and quotes from the original animation series have been brought to life! Players can create their own team and utilize various tactics to conquer their way through matches. Not only will fans of the original series enjoy Haikyu!! About the Haikyu!! Animation Series

Beginning serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2012, a total of 45 volumes were published over the course of 8 and a half years until finally reaching a conclusion in July 2020 with over 60 million copies currently sold. Created by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a highly renowned title within the sports manga genre that gathered popularity with its depiction of the youthful passion of high school students giving their all to volleyball.

Starting in 2014, the TV animation series was broadcasted on TBS TV by Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) until December 2020, resulting in a total of 4 seasons created for the series. Now, coming February 16, 2024, Haikyu!! will be making a comeback with a new movie!! The movie will depict the epic match between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School, one of the most popular arcs from the original series. Otherwise known as the “Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump”. Now, in the promised land, a match where there are no “second chances” is about to begin…
