I had to chuckle at Lemon giving "Creamy" to Mash. I wonder if Mash's room-mate will end up being useful. To date, he hasn't seem to have much potential. I wonder what The Mask Dude's deal is. He said that like Mash he too is "hated" by this world. Sounds like a person who could benefit from eating a creampuff or two.

I think he is as an Asta type power person, aka anti magic. I can see that being a thing that a magic society is not very welcoming to. As for the room-mate, he will either be way more useful than expected or complete trash.

Y'know, even for a brainless show, it can be smart sometimes. Abyss's Eye of the Devil makes a lot of sense for magic users to loathe him, but I have to wonder for what reason would he serve Abel instead why Abel would want someone like him. |

Well, for one he is the perfect anti magic weapon and for the other he is the only person to not want him dead/despise him. Anyway, two of the fangs are now down, the fights were fun and we have an introduction to the magical equivalent of bankai.

Well, big bad was defeated in a fun fight, but it seems like an even worse big bad is now on the loose. I wonder where Lance is, also, are all the prisoner magicians related to eating and cutlery?

That was a fun episode and a fun season as a whole. Be it smashing overconfident mages, dumb jokes or being less than subtle about the magic school basically being not Hogwarts, I enjoyed every week. It is not the best anime this season (not even close) but due to just how enjoyable it is I looked forward to a new episode appearing every week. Also, since Mash his secret is out now things will probably become a bit more complicated.
Looking forward to the second season. |

See, even Abyss's reason to serve Abel kinda makes sense. For an illogical show, it has logical moments. With that, I give this show a 6/10. It's not objectively a good show, but it is what it is and it never pretends to be what it isn't. A mindless show that defies common sense and laws of physics? Who cares, it's a show about magic and a champion who can't use it at all. It could have been a 5/10 but simply for parodying Harry Potter, I would give it a 6/10 instead. I will actually look forward to the next season for this one. |

Yep, I enjoyed this one enough to rate it Good. I agree that Mash's secret getting out is gonna spice things up and looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
