Fate/Grand Order Arcade Slated for Summer in Japan

posted on by Egan Loo

The official website for Type-Moon's Fate/Grand Order Arcade game announced on Sunday that the team battle game will debut in Japanese arcades this summer. In addition, Sega's booth at Japan Amusement Expo (JAEPO) 2018 will host a special stage event for the game on February 10 at 11:30 a.m. (February 9 at 9:30 p.m. EST). The event will stream on the Niconico Live service, and it will announce various details about the game, including available Servants and the game system.

Type-Moon, Aniplex, and Delight Works Inc. are partnering with Sega on the game. Type-Moon already held a location test in Akihabara in December. The game includes following playable characters:

  • Saber (Artoria Pendragon)
  • Archer (Emiya)
  • Lancer (Elizabeth Bathory)
  • Saber (Siegfried)
  • Archer (Atalanta)
  • Lancer (Leonidas I)

Aniplex released the Fate/Grand Order smartphone game in Japan in summer 2015. The game received an English release in the United States and Canada on June 25.

A 74-minute television anime based on the game titled Fate/Grand Order: First Order aired in Japan on December 31. Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the special the same day. Aniplex of America will release the special on Blu-ray Disc in North America on October 24 with Japanese and English audio.

The franchise also inspired a stage play that ran from July 14-17 at the Zepp Blue Theater in Roppongi, Tokyo. Additionally, two manga adaptations, Fate/Grand Order -mortalis:stella- and Fate/Grand Order: Turas Réalta-, launched in July and August, respectively.

The Fate/Grand Order VR feat. Mash Kyrielight PlayStation VR game launched in December.
