posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Four new pieces of artwork by Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi will debut at Los Angeles' Gallery 1988 as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tribute Art Show opening on July 5.

The show is being organized in conjunction with Konami Cross Media NY and 50 popular artists from Gallery 1988. Much of the art on display will be tribute works as well as an interactive exhibit by Pretty in Plastic. Artists include Allison Bamcat, Tom Whalen, Dan Mumford, Anthony Petrie, Matthew Skiff, Dave Perillo, and Steve Dressler.

Limited, numbered prints will be on sale at the gallery. The show is running concurrently with Anime Expo and Gallery 1988 is approximately seven miles from Los Angeles Convention Center.

Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. Takahashi won Comic-Con International's Inkpot Award in July 2015. The award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to comics, science fiction and fantasy, film, television, animation, and fandom.
