posted on by Christopher Macdonald
TDK Mediactive has announced features and details regarding the first Robotech game, to come out for the Game Boy advance.

TDK Mediactive has announced details regarding the release of their upcoming Robotech game. TDK first announced the Robotech Game at E3 in May, but at the time no details regarding the game were available.

According to a press announcement released earlier this week, “The Macross Saga” is to be released for the Game Boy advance this summer. Anime Dream has posted some screenshots of the game here, it looks like it is going to be a very traditional side scrolling shooter.

Excerpt from the press release:

About Robotech for the Game Boy Advance
As the last line of defense in an epic intergalactic war, the player must pilot the Veritech Valkyrie, the transformable fighter that combines the aerial grace of F-14 Tomcats and the firepower of an armored division. A side scrolling, action shooter, Robotech for the Game Boy Advance, pits the player against an invading alien race—the Zentraedi.

Features for Robotech include the following:

· Side scrolling shooter with forced perspective gameplay
· Chance to play as four characters from the Robotech series: Rick Hunter, Roy Fokker, Maximillian Sterling, or Miryia
· Two player and four player competitive link compatible
· Transformable Veritech fighters capable of three different modes: fighter, guardian, and battloid
· Dogfights in various environments: in the air, on the ground, in space, and inside giant Zentraedi spaceships
· Ability to upgrade and purchase weapons by using credits earned on missions
