AŌP Returns to Sing Mr. Osomatsu Season 2's Opening Theme

The official website for the Mr. Osomatsu television anime revealed on Sunday that the AŌP idol unit will return to perform the opening theme song for the anime's second season. The new theme song is titled "Kunshi Ayauku mo Chikau yore." The song's CD single will ship on November 21.
The group sang both opening theme songs of the anime's first season. Asaki, the lyricist of the first theme song "Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoiko Dake," returned to pen the lyrics of "Kunshi Ayauku mo Chikau yore," and singer Mafumafu wrote the new song's music.
The second season will premiere in October on TV Tokyo and other stations.
Yōichi Fujita is returning to direct the anime's second season at Studio Pierrot with character designer Naoyuki Asano. Shū Matsubara is returning as series script supervisor and scriptwriter. Other main staff members are also returning, along with the main voice cast.
The Mr. Osomatsu anime series premiered in October 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. The Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi special aired in Japan on December 12, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime under the title "Mr. Osomatsu JRA Special 2016." The 24-minute special is part of the "Hashire! Oumatsu-san" collaboration between Mr. Osomatsu and the Japan Racing Association. The collaboration also includes a series of six new anime shorts titled "Mutsugo to Ouma no Monogatari" (The Story of the Sextuplets and a Horse).
Fujio Akatsuka's original Osomatsu-kun manga and "high tension comedy" TV anime centered on the Matsuno household, which has six naughty and mischievous sons (who are sextuplets). All of the sextuplets, including the eldest Osomatsu, are all in love with the same girl, Totoko. The original series followed the family when the sons were 10 years old. The new show re-imagines the original manga and TV anime with the sextuplets as adults.
Akatsuka launched the Osomatsu-kun manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 1962, and the manga ran in the magazine until 1969. The manga then ran in Weekly Shonen King from 1972-1973, and then in Comic BonBon from 1987-1990. The compiled manga volumes have more than 10 million copies in print.
