Night is Short, Walk On Girl Film's Chinese-Subtitled Trailer Streamed

Hong Kong film distributor Edko Films began streaming an English- and Chinese-subtitled trailer on Saturday for its screening of Masaaki Yuasa's Night is Short, Walk On Girl anime film. The film opens in Hong Kong on Thursday.
Night is Short, Walk On Girl opened in Japan last April. The film adapts Tomihiko Morimi's (The Eccentric Family, The Tatami Galaxy) novel of the same name. The story takes place in Kyoto, and follows an upperclassman ("Sempai") who falls in love with his underclassman ("Girl with Black Hair") and tries to get her attention. The film won the Grand Prize for Features award at the Ottawa International Film Festival last September, where it screened in competition alongside Yuasa's Lu over the wall. The movie also won Animation of the Year award at the 41st annual Japan Academy Prizes earlier this month.
The main staff of The Tatami Galaxy anime returned for the film. Yuasa directed the film at his Science SARU studio, and Makoto Ueda wrote the script. Yūsuke Nakamura, the cover artist for the original novel as well as The Tatami Galaxy, designed the characters. Michiru Oshima composed the music.
Edko Films is also screening Yuasa's Lu over the wall film in Hong Kong this month.
