Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga Creator Kazuki Takahashi Launches Short Manga in Shonen Jump

This year's 45th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that Yu-Gi-Oh! manga creator Kazuki Takahashi will pen a new short manga series titled The Comiq. The manga will debut in the 46th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on October 15. The first chapter will have 53 pages.
The manga is commemorating the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series will center on the rookie manga creator Genkō and his secret.
Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. Takahashi won Comic-Con International's Inkpot Award in July 2015. The award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to comics, science fiction and fantasy, film, television, animation, and fandom.
