Okay, now this has gone from funny to weird.

Dtm42, somehow I think if you actually wrote this Dragon Art Online fanfic, there would be a lot of people reading it despite the commentary of it being so wrong lol.

As Oroboro alluded to, it's one thing to rewrite chapter 16.5 simply to make everything now dragon-related; I could do so in an hour, easily.

But it's quite another to write a fresh fan-fic, especially since I've never written fan-fiction before. And even more especially since I have no clue at what sort of reproduction organs a dragon would have. I'd have to research both reptilian and bird anatomies and mating rituals. That's a sentence I didn't even want to write let alone actually do.

Of course, no-one else has any idea of how dragons would bring one another to orgasm either, so I could wing it if I wanted to. I mean, it's not like anyone could call me out on it if I got it wrong.

And now the conversation has gone from weird to just plain bizarre.

I would do more but the chapter is pretty explicit; it is hard to find passages which don't include Kirito playing with* Asuna's genitalia. Besides the fact that I have no idea how to translate "breasts" and "nipples" - neither of which a dragon would have (being reptilian) - I think people already understand that a dragon-orientated chapter 16.5 would be hilarious.

Something tells me the outraeg on /a/ would be high, considering how much they hate "furries" and all...

You don't want to know, or should I say I've been desensitized to it thanks to trolls on /b/. From a biological perspective it is rather difficult to see (not to mention that reptiles have different mating behavior from mammals). So, since most numbskulls would just as soon slap some boobs on them, you might as well go the whole nine yards and give them human genitalia.

You haven't been around on the internet much, have you? Laughing jk jk

And then I go looking for examples like the fool I am. D:

I say that a parody need not try to trump the original. It's fanfiction! No need to be accurate! No need to be anatomically correct! If you want your dragons to have boobs, well then by golly give 'em boobs. You even have a fandom out there to support your endeavor.

Mad_Scientist, the pun was not intended but I did notice it.

If it was done ironically then /a/ might be okay with it . . . not that I really care about what their opinion anyway.

See, this is why it is a good thing I don't write erotic fanfiction; I would suck at it. A good fanfiction writer wouldn't bother looking up anatomy, as the more you get it wrong the funnier it is.

Ah, but we've got plenty of fresh stuff to comment on now, so I think we'll be getting back on track here.

Episode 23:

Am I being an overenthusiastic fanboy if I proclaim this as the best episode yet and one of the most satisfying? Yeah, there was a bit of cliche involved (i.e., spoiler[the posse flies in for the assist just as the hero gets on the ropes from being overwhelmed and assists him in breaking through]), and we knew that it was likely coming based on what happened in previous episodes, but even so that was a great spectacle. I thought the Kirito/Leafa resolution was well-handled, too, and we finally got the insight into Kazuto's mindset that people have been clamoring for since the early episodes. It was done simply and efficiently (series like Naruto and Bleach could have learned a lesson here) and explained pretty nearly everything important about his behavior over the course of the series. Others may disagree, but I thought the timing for it coming up here was perfect. Leafa's behavior later on was exactly what I hoped she would eventually come to.

Other random thoughts:

1. Recon: Damn, dude, that was ballsy. Guys are notorious for doing stupidly bold/brave things to impress their ladies, so I'll be curious to see if that wins him any points with Suguha down the road.

2. So how much of a crapstorm would be raised if Kirito logged out and reported in forums that spoiler[the main quest that the entire game was built around was never meant to be possible to complete]? Granted, he has higher priorities to think about right now, but that seems to me like one hell of a bargaining chip down the road.

3. I can't find words to describe how irrepressibly cute and appealing Yui is.

4. Was it just me, or were the ground shots while Kirito and Leafa were flying around during their reconciliation a hefty dose of scenery porn?

That was a fun episode. A bit cheesy at parts, but I couldn't help smiling the whole way through.

Although I did burst out laughing when spoiler[Recon blew himself up and Lyfa was all "NO! The death penalty on that is really harsh!"] Laughing

spoiler[Unsupported, Kirito would have simply been torn apart as everything would be aggroing on him.]

None, because no one would believe him. He would be met with replies of "Cool story, bro" and "Pics or GTFO."

Kirito thinking about his life.
The whole thing with Sugu was an interesting turn of events.
Lots of flashbacks too.
Kirito vs Sugu. That was interesting.
spoiler[Giving the tower another shot with some reinforcements was nice to watch.
Founding out that he went where no player was meant to go was interesting.]

spoiler[good thing Asuna stole the admin card eh? and decided it was the one thing to drop]

but that aside I enjoyed the majority of the episode the mega number of MOBs was missing the huge number of archers and that in my opinion is a plot hole.

shame they didn't animate him going postal in dual wield modespoiler[ before the fused swords rush].
