Singer Kumi Koda Announces Pregnancy

29-year-old singer Kumi Koda revealed at a mini-live event for fans in Tokyo on Friday that she is pregnant. Koda and her record company announced on Tuesday that she will marry Kenji03, the 27-year-old vocalist of the rock band Back-On. The Nikkan Sports newspaper had reported on Tuesday that Koda was not pregnant.
Koda and Kenji03 got to know each other after collaborating on "4 Times," Koda's 50th single which was released in August. The two will get married before the end of the year. Koda revealed in an interview after the event that she is about eight weeks pregnant.
Koda sang theme songs for the Final Fantasy X-2 role-playing game, Crayon Shin-chan: Densetsu o Yobu Odore! Amigo!, the live-action Cutie Honey film, Gilgamesh, The Law of Ueki, and Re: Cutie Honey. Back-On performed theme songs for Air Gear, Eyeshield 21, and Murder Princess.
