Ginga Jinpū Jinraiger Anime's Character, Mecha Designs Unveiled

The official website of the Ginga Jinpū Jinraiger (Galaxy Divine Wind Jinraiger) anime revealed the character and mecha designs for the anime on Monday.

The staff revealed the character designs at the "2nd GDW Festival" at the Yoani Live Station on November 1. The staff said it had wanted to announce more details about the ongoing production during the festival, but decided to hold off on providing specific details. The staff did note that production is ongoing.
The website previously revealed the opening and ending theme songs for the anime earlier this year. The opening theme song is titled "Galaxy Devine Wind," performed by Yukio Yamagata (Ginga Reppū Baxingar, Ginga Senpū Braiger).
The ending theme song is titled "Terra Amata," performed by MIQ (Sentō Mecha Xabungle, Aura Battler Dunbine, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory).
Yū Yamamoto and Masayuki Yamamoto composed and wrote both songs.
The "GDW Project" organization and scriptwriter Yū Yamamoto (Mobile Suit Gundam) is producing the Ginga Jinpū Jinraiger original anime project. The anime is related to the J9 anime trilogy, which aired in the early 80's. GDW Project had revealed the anime in April 2014.
The original J9 trilogy included Ginga Senpū Braiger (1981-1982), Ginga Reppū Baxingar (1982-1983), and Ginga Shippū Sasuraiger (1983-1984). Enoki Films licensed the series in English as Cosmo Ranger, Cosmo Runner, and Wonder Six, respectively. Yamamoto wrote the original story for all three.
As the representative of GDW Project, Yamamoto stated that the new project will have a "J9 taste" but will include entirely new characters and story. The previous series each adopted a different motif: the Hissatsu Series for Braiger, the Shinsengumi for Baxingar, and Around the World in 80 DAYS for Sasuraiger. Similarly, Ginga Jinpū Jinraiger will use the Chinese classic novel Water Margin as its motif.
Yamamoto also stated that one of the goals of the project is to revive the "original anime" in an age where it's more common to base anime off of manga, which is bad for anime scriptwriters. For this reason, he has started a "Practice Anime School" to train several new talents for the next generation of anime scriptwriters, using Ginga Jinpū Jinraiger as the teaching material.
Up-and-coming artist Kanhō Murase is in charge of character and mecha designs for the new project.
