Indonesian anime channel Indosiar began airing the Yo-kai Watch television anime on Sunday with an Indonesian dub. The channel will air a new dubbed episode of the anime every Sunday at 8:30 a.m.

Toonami Asia is already airing the anime in South and Southeast Asia with an English dub, and it describes the series:

Keita Amano is just a regular boy living in a regular place called Sakura New Town. One summer's day, he encounters a strange white Yo-kai called Whisper, who starts following him around. Whisper gives Keita a strange timepiece known as the Yōkai Watch, and with it, he starts finding Yo-kai all over his hometown!

Keita soon learns that most everyday troubles are caused by Yo-kai, and that by persuading and sometimes battling with them, he can solve people's problems, and make new Yo-kai friends in the process!

Toonami Asia began airing the series last June. Elex Media Komputindo publishes the Yo-kai Watch manga in Indonesian, and will publish the manga's second volume on Wednesday. Shogakukan Asia publishes the same manga in English throughout Southeast Asia.

Game developer Level-5 announced the Yo-kai Watch franchise in 2011 with a game, manga, and anime already planned. The franchise's first game for the Nintendo 3DS debuted in Japan in July 2013, and the anime premiered in January 2014. The latest game in the franchise, Yo-kai Watch Busters Getto-gumi, shipped on December 12. Yo-kai Watch 3 will ship this summer. Bandai sells Yo-kai Watch toys and game tie-in medals in Japan.
