(Kimi no Na wa.) anime film has earned 19,492,000,000 yen (about US$174 million) as of Sunday, surpassing the 19.3 billion yen earnings of Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke anime film. The film has also sold 14,986,000 tickets. The film ranked at #2 in its 14th weekend, losing the top spot to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which debuted at #1 during the November 26-27 weekend.

Shinkai's latest film had topped the Japanese charts for nine straight weekends since it opened on August 26, and in its 10th weekend dropped to #2 to Death Note Light up the NEW world, before regaining the top spot in its 11th weekend, and it stayed at the top spot in its 12th and 13th weekends.
The live-action Museum film fell from #2 to #3 in its third weekend. The film adapts Ryōsuke Tomoe's Museum (Museum: The Serial Killer is Laughing in the Rain) suspense horror manga.
The Kantai Collection: KanColle anime film debuted at #5. It sold 70,000 tickets for over 100 million yen (US$1 million) on 60 screens. Shinichiro Inoue reprised his role from the television anime series as chief production supervisor for the film, and Keizou Kusakawa returned from the television series to direct the film at diomedéa. Kensuke Tanaka, who is credited with the original plan and concept, also wrote the film's script alongside Jukki Hanada.
Sunao Katabuchi's (Mai Mai Miracle, Black Lagoon) In This Corner of the World anime film rose from #10 to #6 in its third weekend. It sold 44,048 tickets for over 64,949,160 yen (US$576,000) on 82 screens— 14 more than the 68 screens it had in its first weekend. Its third weekend earned 14% more than its previous weekend did. It is now calculated to have sold 220,000 tickets for 300 million yen (US$3 million) total.
The Death Note Light up the NEW world live-action film fell from #4 to #7 in its fifth weekend, and the live-action Oboreru Knife film fell from #7 to #10 during its fourth weekend.
The Eiga Mahō Tsukai Precure! Kiseki no Henshin! Cure Mofurun! anime film and the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin IV: Unmei no Zenya (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin IV Eve of Destiny) film both fell off the top 10 chart.
