C3 AFA Singapore Adds Iris, Nano as Musical Guests

The Anime Festival Asia convention revealed additional musical guests on Tuesday for its C3 AFA Singapore event. The new guests include singers Iris and Nano.

Iris began her career in the entertainment industry in 2012 in her home country of Malaysia. She moved to Japan in 2015, and became famous for the Nippon Yasashisa Tabi television program, which featured her hitchhiking all across Japan. Cosmetics company Kose chose her as the image character for its Sekkisui brand, and she appeared in commercials for the brand. She signed with Sony Music in 2016, and has released three singles, including "Fantastic Japan," her collaboration song with the Sekkisui brand, on May 31. She will perform the theme song for Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Kōdō (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Awakening Path), the first of the planned compilation film trilogy for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 anime series. The single is slated for October 18.

Nano was born in New York, and is a bilingual singer and musician. Nano has released eight singles and three albums since debuting in 2012. Nano's debut album, nanoir, ranked #10 on the Oricon weekly album charts. The singer's third album, Rock On, ranked #6 on the Oricon weekly album charts in its first week in January 2015. Nano has performed theme songs for such anime as Phi-Brain - Puzzle of God: The Orpheus Order, Btooom!, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Magical Warfare, M3 the dark metal, and Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A. Nano performed live in Taiwan last month.

Nano's most recent two singles, "DREAMCATCHER" and "MY LIBERATION/PARAISO," have title songs that have been used in anime (Magical Girl Raising Project for "Dreamcatcher" and Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas for "My Liberation" and "Paraiso"). Both singles celebrate the artist's fifth anniversary. Nano's newest album, The Crossing, shipped on May 31.

The convention is one of five in content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. and Singaporean events and marketing agency Sozo Pte. Ltd.'s "C3 AFA" joint events that bring together their C3 and Anime Festival Asia events. Aside from Singapore, the events have also run in Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan, and will also have an event in Hong Kong in February 2018.

The convention will take place at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition & Convention Center on November 24-26. Other musical guests include ClariS, FLOW, fripSide, Luce Twinkle Wink☆, May'n, Shiena Nishizawa, Tomohisa Sakō, Konomi Suzuki, Moso Calibration, TRUE, and Mashiro Ayano. The event will also hold a preview screening of the first episode of Kyoto Animation's upcoming Violet Evergarden television anime.
