Anime Expo, FanimeCon to Host Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Real Escape Game

posted on by Karen Ressler
Game featuring original character ran in Japan last year

The Anime Expo and FanimeCon conventions announced on Tuesday that they will both host SCRAP's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders real escape game, JoJo's Bizarre Escape: The Hotel. Games will be held from May 25-28 at FanimeCon and July 4-8 at Anime Expo. SCRAP is producing the game in cooperation with Viz Media.

The game is set inside a building made by an enemy Stand. Participants must become Stand users and use their powers to solve puzzles and escape from the mysterious building. Players will cooperate in groups of six people, and the time limit will be 60 minutes.

SCRAP describes the game's story:

In order to defeat their arch nemesis DIO, Jotaro and the team travel to Egypt.
During their stay at a hotel, they suddenly hear a mysterious voice.

"Hello... Have you decided on how you're going to spend your last hour alive?"

The voice continues as Jotaro's group prepares for battle.

"If you don't escape this hotel within 1 hour… you will all vanish into thin air!"

"Are you one of DIO's minions?! Show yourself!"
The walls suddenly start moving, and the hotel transforms into a complex maze. A swift punch strikes the wall, but not even a scratch was left.

"Good grief..." "Looks like we're trapped."

"You have exactly one hour until your check out… from life, that is! Hahahaha!"

The voice fades out.

"A Stand that takes no damage.... Then there's only one thing we can do."
"Find the culprit within 1 hour and beat him… right?"
5 people and 1 dog are trapped with a 1 hour time limit.
Will they be able to solve the mystery behind the enemy's stand and escape from this labyrinth?

The game features the original character Dija Maker (pictured below), voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto and approved by original creator Hirohiko Araki. His stand is House of Holy, the building the players are trapped in.

The game originally ran in 24 locations in Japan beginning in November.

FanimeCon 2018 will be held from May 25-28 at the San Jose Convention Center. This year's Anime Expo will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 5 to July 8, with a pre-show event on July 4.
