Rilu Rilu Fairilu 3rd Season's Cast, Title, July Premiere Revealed

Ari Ozawa, Emiri Iwai join cast of anime

Sanrio and Sega Toys revealed the title, cast, premiere date, and visual for the third season of the Rilu Rilu Fairilu television anime on Thursday. The new season is titled Oshiete Mahō no Pendulum: Rilu Rilu Fairilu (Teach Me! Magic Pendulum ~Rilu Rilu Fairilu~).

The new season will premiere on Kids Station on July 7 at 8:15 a.m., followed by July 8 on Animax, and July 15 on Tokyo MX.

Yumiri Hanamori, Satomi Satou, Aya Uchida, Rina Hidaka, and Aina Kusuda all reprise their roles from previous seasons as Lip, Rin, Himawari, Sumire, and Rose, respectively. Ari Ozawa will join the cast as Spica (seen below), a character who appears in the Spica to Mahō no Dress and Spica to Maigo no Nagareboshi books. Spica is a happy Fairilu who always thinks about her dreams and her work. She is a positive thinker and is very frank, and acts like a big sister to Lip.

Emiri Iwai also joins the cast as Arisu Hanazono, a middle schooler who is constantly worried.

The new season's story centers on a girl who stumbles upon a relic known as the "Magic Pendulum," and uses it to get to the Fairilu world. While there, she goes on adventures as the show portrays her growing up.

Chisei Maeda (Aooni The Blue Monster) is directing the series at Studio DEEN. Akemi Omode returns from the second season to oversee the series' scripts. Jinshichi Yamaguchi also returns to provide character designs.

In the franchise's story, "Fairilu" are fairies of flowers, insects, mermaids, or other entities that are born from "Farilu Seeds." All Fairilu are born with their own key, and they must search to find and open the door that fits only their key. Once the Fairilu pass through the doors, they mature. The doors are also related to the human world.

The anime series is part of Sanrio and Sega Toys' Rilu Rilu Fairilu collaborative multimedia character project. The project also includes merchandise, books, a game, and events.

The first anime season premiered in Japan in February 2016. Sakura Gojō directed the anime at Studio DEEN. Aya Matsui (Dragon Ball GT, Marmalade Boy, Tamagotchi!) handled the series composition, and Jinshichi Yamaguchi designed the characters.

The second anime season, Rilu Rilu Fairilu: Mahō no Kagami, premiered in April 2017. The second season introduced a new bellflower Fairilu, who hatches from a Fairilu Seed that Nozomi's little sister Karen has by chance.

The project is the second multimedia character collaborative project for the two companies after they launched the Jewelpet franchise in 2008. Rilu Rilu Fairilu is similarly geared toward elementary school-age girls.
