Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter Manga Ends

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga adaptation of franchise's 21st anime film launched in January

The September issue of Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S magazine revealed on Wednesday that Yutaka Abe and Jirō Maruden's manga adaptation of Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter, the 21st Detective Conan anime film, will end in the next issue on August 25.

Abe and Maruden launched the manga adaptation of Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter in Shōnen Sunday S on January 25, after concluding their adaptation of Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare last December. Both manga are based on films that are themselves based on Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed) manga.

Kobun Shizuno directed both original films, and Takahiro Ōkura wrote the screenplay for Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter.

The original Detective Conan manga has been running since 1996 and has spawned an ongoing anime series. Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter opened in April 2017, earning the highest opening weekend record for the franchise at the time. Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer (Meitantei Conan: Zero no Shikkōnin), the 22nd film in the series, has since topped it.
