Aniplus Asia Airs Simulcasts for Ensemble Stars, Arifureta, Danmachi Season 2 Anime

Southeast Asian anime channel Aniplus-Asia announced on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that it will air simulcasts for the Ensemble Stars! television anime, Arifureta - From Commonplace to World's Strongest television anime and the second season of the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? anime. The simulcasts will all premiere this summer.
Ensemble Stars! is based on Happy Elements' smartphone game franchise. The series will premiere on July 7.
The cast from the game is returning for the anime.
Yasufumi Soejima is the series director for the anime, and Masakazu Hishida (KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm, King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO, King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars) is directing the anime at david production. Novelist Akira (Sasami-san@Ganbaranai), who wrote the original scenario for the game, is in charge of the series scripts for the anime. Shinichi Inotsume (Hayate the Combat Butler, PERSONA 5 the Animation, Sket Dance) is the chief writer, and Haruko Iizuka (Children of the Whales, The Idolm@ster SideM, Little Busters!), Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman., Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma), and Eri Nagata (Blade & Soul) are adapting the original character designs by Happy Elements (Cacalia Studio) for animation.
The "idol-training produce game" takes place at a private boys' idol-training school with a history of turning out many great talents in show business. The protagonist is the school's lone female student who transfers to the school because of a special situation, and enters the school's producer department. The game features eight different idol units and has a cast of more than 30 male voice actors.
Happy Elements had confirmed the adaptation in 2015, and GENCO and Happy Elements had originally planned to release it in 2017. However, GENCO and Happy Elements announced in February 2017 that they were postponing the planned adaptation due to "various circumstances." GENCO is not currently listed in the anime's staff credits with david production.
Arifureta - From Commonplace to World's Strongest is based on Ryo Shirakome's light novel series of the same name. The anime was originally slated to premiere in April 2018 but was delayed, and will now premiere in Japan on July 8.
The staff has changed since the anime's initial announcement. Kinji Yoshimoto (Unbreakable Machine-Doll, Seven Mortal Sins, Genshiken 2) is now directing the anime at WHITE FOX and asread. Chika Kojima (Big Order) is now the new character designer to adapt Takayaki's original designs for animation. Shoichi Sato (Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!, Shakugan no Shana episode scriptwriter) and Kinji Yoshimoto (Queen's Blade: The Exiled Virgin, The Seven Mortal Sins) are supervising and penning the series' scripts. Ryō Takahashi (Citrus, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) is composing the music.
Jun Kamiya (Kingdom) was originally slated to direct the series at WHITE FOX, with Atsuo Tobe (Kingdom) as character designer. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Is the order a rabbit?) was originally in charge of the series scripts, but is no longer listed as working on the project.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is based on Fujino Ōmori's light novel series of the same name. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 12.
Hideki Tachibana (Circlet Princess, Armed Girl's Machiavellism) will replace Yoshiki Yamakawa as director for the second season at J.C. Staff. Scriptwriter Hideki Shirane, character designer Shigeki Kimoto, sound director Jin Aketagawa, and composer Keiji Inai are all returning for the second season. Yuka Iguchi is returning to perform the second season's opening theme song "HELLO to DREAM."
J.C. Staff adapted author Fujino Ōmori and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda's Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series into a television anime in 2015. Aniplus-Asia aired the anime as a simulcast as it aired in Japan. The company also aired the original video anime (OVA) in February 2017.
Ōmori and illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura's Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria spinoff light novel series inspired an anime that premiered in April 2017. Aniplus-Asia also aired a simulcast of the anime.
The series also inspired the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion anime film, which opened in Japan on February 15. Aniplus-Asia screened the film theatrically in Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
