Ange Vierge: Girls Battle Game Ends Service After 8 Years

posted on by Alex Mateo
Service ends on December 20

The official website and Twitter account for Sega's Ange Vierge ~Girls Battle~ smartphone app game announced on Wednesday that the game will end service after eight years because it has become difficult to maintain the quality of service that satisfies its users. The game will end service on December 20 at 2:00 p.m. JST.

The game has halted sales of in-game "GG" currency, and it plans to accept refunds starting on December 20 after ending service. Videos of the game's main scenario will gradually begin streaming on YouTube.

The game launched in 2013 for iOS and Android devices.

Two Kadokawa brands, Fujimi Shobo and Media Factory, released the Ange Vierge trading card game in 2013. The story of the card game follows what happens when "Hairō" portals suddenly open, fusing three different worlds together. As a result, various mysterious "Exceed" powers are awakened in teenaged girls. An academy for these so-called "Progress" girls is built on the isolated Seiran Island in the Pacific.

Kadokawa stopped development of the trading card game in April 2017.

The trading card game's television anime adaptation premiered in July 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Masafumi Tamura (Modern Magic Made Simple, SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation) made his directorial debut with the series and designed the characters. SILVER LINK produced the anime.

Mako Komao's Ange Vierge Linkage manga ended in 2015. Production I.G and Point Pictures produced promotional videos for the trading card game.
